I finally managed to take some nice pictures of my Beatrix:
- Pattern: Beatrix by Kim Hargreaves (bought together with the yarn as kit)
- Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed, Colour cocoa
- Size: XS
- Needles: 4.5 bamboo circs

The instructions were very clear, I can only recommend this pattern. Nevertheless I had some problems with gauge, had to go up from size 3.5 as recommended to 4.5 and my stitch gauge was slightly off. I got row gauge but my knitting was somehow too loose. It didn’t feel right and came out too wide in the end. Maybe that’s the reason why the seven balls of yarn contained in the kit weren’t enough. I had to buy an extra ball in a different dye lot – you can spot the difference but it’s only at the collar.
I decided to throw Bea in the washing machine for felting, and, although maybe it’s a bit short now, I really like the fit!
Here’s the photo I like best:
The Earl Grey socks are finished!
Pattern: Earl Grey Socks by the Yarn Harlot, Needles: 2.5 mm bamboo dpns, Yarn: Trekking XXL, see all details on Ravelry.
They seem to be a bit loose-fitting but my dad explicitly wanted them to be like this. The pattern is very suitable for men with just a small cable running down on each side of the sock.
I’m really a crazy knitting perfectionist. My mum just reminded me of that. She had a look at the socks I knit for my dad
